New retail store to open downtown, sales will help domestic violence victims

Virginia

A new retail store is coming to downtown Winchester, and the sales will help domestic violence victims.

The Laurel Center recently rented the building at 33 East Piccadilly street where they will open its first retail store. All proceeds from the store, which will be named good things for a good purpose, will benefit the center, which provides support services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. The store will not be a thrift shop, but will sell overstock and close-out items donated by companies and manufacturers.

“The purchases here are going to directly support families who really need it those who are affected by domestic and sexual violence so this will be very much a mission vision driven store so when you come in you know you are helping the clients of the Laurel Center.” Cindy Marzullo of the Laurel Center says.

“Good Things for a Good Purpose” is expected to open early next month.
