There’s a new portrait exhibit in Crystal City that features America’s favorite neighbor.
The exhibit titled “Mister Rogers: Just the way you are,” is now live at the PBS headquarters.
The exhibit features an interactive mixed-media portrait that includes several artifacts from the show, including Mister Rogers’ glasses, his bow-tie and a mirror.
The Tennessee-based artist who created the piece says he was inspired after watching a documentary of Fred Rogers.
“The mirror is an invitation to viewers to hopefully see themselves in a way that they perhaps haven’t. I wanted the viewer to take away the fact there there’s no malice in how we are all uniquely different. We are all humans,” Wayne Brezinka said.
Crystal City is the first of five stops on the tour.
It will be open to the public until May 31.
