Maryland man accused of assault and hit & run in Prince William County

Virginia

A Maryland man is facing charges after an alleged attack following a car accident on Prince William County Parkway.

Officers said Robert Warren was driving a 2011 Ford F150 along Prince William County Parkway and Hastings Dr. when he was involved in a minor accident.

During the encounter police said Warren got out of his car and confronted the other driver, identified as a 22-year-old woman. After exchanging words, Warren allegedly hit the woman in the face then returned to his car where officers said the argument escalated.

“The male responded back to his vehicle and got inside but the female followed him back. He then placed the vehicle in drive at that point it moved the female forward and knocked her to the ground. The vehicle continued moving forward and actually ran over her leg,” said Officer Nathan Probus, spokesperson for Prince William County Police Department.

Warren has been charged with malicious wounding, assault and battery and hit and run.

The victim was transported to a hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
