Police are investigating a two-car crash that left a Manassas Park woman dead.
Virginia State Police said the accident happened just before 3 p.m. April 26 on Route 802, near Fair Oaks Drive.
Police said Stephanie Rix, 29, was traveling east on Springs Road when she lost control, ran off of the roadway right, struck an embankment over corrected and struck a van that was traveling westbound.
“The driver of the Toyota suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. She was later flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the Chevy, was a 22-year old-male from Culpeper, Virginia. He suffered minor injuries in the crash,” Corrine Geller, spokesperson for Virginia State Police said.
Police said no charges have been placed. The crash remains under investigation.
