A man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct Wednesday, at an Arlington, Va. Cheesecake Factory.

According to Arlington County Police, a large crowd had gathered at the restaurant, for a cheesecake giveaway promotion.

The restaurant chain, celebrating its 40th birthday, had promised customers a free slice of cheesecake if they placed their orders online.

By 12:30 p.m., the promotion had apparently created chaos inside the Cheesecake Factory restaurant on Clarendon Boulevard.

Officers were dispatched to the restaurant for a reported fight in progress. When officers arrived, they did not find a fight, but, they did find a large crowd related to the promotion. According to a crime report, officers worked to de-escalate “tension related to the wait time.”

After a brief struggle, police said the Burke, Va. man was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation. He was charged with disorderly conduct and released on a Virginia Uniform Summons.
