We have new developments in the pedestrian accident that took place in Strasburg late last fall that left one area grandmother in a coma.
The driver, Judith Cosby, pled guilty to the underlying charge of failure to yield to pedestrians late last year.
Now, the victim’s personal injury lawyer, Beau Correll, is pursuing a claim against Cosby, the driver of the motor vehicle.
The elderly woman who was injured in the accident was initially treated at the Winchester Medical Center, suffering from multiple fractures to her skull and ribs. She was then transported to UVA while she was in the coma. The victim was later taken to a local nursing home and allowed to go home this past January.
“The shock of being run over, being in a coma, having months of rehabilitation, lots of pain, that’s had a profound effect on her. And at the end of the day, she was looking forward to the sunset years of her life. She’s had those robbed from her,” said Beau Correll, Attorney, Correll Law Firm, PLC.
The grandmother is still undergoing treatment, but now on an outpatient basis.
This matter is expected to be resolved within the next month.
