Lake Fairfax Park turns into a Wonderland

Virginia

On Saturday, the famous Lake Fairfax Park in Reston, Va. went down the rabbit hole from Alice in Wonderland.

As a way to celebrate the lovely Spring weather, while also bringing the famous Children’s Tale to life, the Dogwood Event Design Company turned the park into different scenes from the story. Kids are able to run alongside a garden of giant mushrooms, play with Humpty Dumpty, and take part in many other fun events based around the classic story. Event organizer say it’s a way to get kids to act on their imaginations.

“We find that a lot of kids are into electronics and it kinda gets them into this zone where they don’t use their imagination, they are not creating, they are not playing, and when they bring them into this atmosphere where there all these bright props, and things to move around, everything is larger than life, their brains go nuts,” said Ally Mueller, owner of Dogwood Event Design.

Including the entirety of this weekend the event will run for the next three weekends.
