Police are continuing to investigate the discharge of a firearm incident at Hylton High School in Woodbridge.
A gun brought to school by a student went off inside of a classroom. School staff found bullet fragments on a nearby trash can and ceiling after the round was said to have ricocheted.
Once the nature of the incident was discovered. Police and school officials quickly identified and detained the student involved. Police believe the discharge was accidental. No injuries were reported.
