Frederick county continues to work on their middle school re-zoning process for the 2019 school year.
Cropper GIS Consulting has been conducting a re-zoning study in Frederick County. Wednesday was their second public information session. Their goal is reduce the overcrowding of James Wood Middle School and move more students into Frederick County Middle School, since they have extra space. they hope to move as few students as possible to minimize the impact.
“The last time we met with the public, we only have maps of the current zones showing. There were no re-zoning options showing. They had five scenarios they had been looking at and they narrowed that to three for this particular meeting tonight,” said Cropper GIS Consulting president Matthew Cropper.
Parents were able to voice their opinions about which zoning option they liked best and the plan will be presented once it goes through the school board for approval.
