Former EDA director arrested on embezzlement and fraud charges

Virginia

Friday night Virginia State Police arrested the former Front Royal-Warren County Economic Development Authority director.

Jennifer McDonald was charged with two felony counts of fraud and two felony counts of embezzlement.

According to RSW Regional Jail, McDonald is currently being held without bond. In March, the EDA filed a civil lawsuit against McDonald and several other defendants, claiming they stole more than $17 million from their organization.

Last month, the EDA elected a new director, Douglas Parsons, to fill McDonald’s spot.
