FBI confirms raid of Warren County Economic Development Authority office

Virginia

FRONT ROYAL, Va. — On Tuesday, The FBI and the Virginia State Police raided the Front Royal-Warren County  Economic Development Authority office.

FBI public affairs specialist, Dee Rybiski, told WDVM that they can confirm a law enforcement presence was on the scene, but they cannot make any further comments.

Last month, the EDA filed a civil lawsuit after their former director, Jennifer McDonald, and several others, allegedly misplaced $17 million of the authority’s money. Thomas Sayre of the Warren County board of supervisors gives his personal opinion on the matter.

“It only takes a few people to do a lot of damage, but it is over now. Otherwise, we are a good, hardworking, honest people in Front Royal and Warren County and we are going to reclaim it,” said Sayre.

WDVM also reached out to the interim executive director of the EDA, John Anzivino, and he does not wish to make any comments at this time.

A Facebook user captured what appeared to be the raid in action.
