Families enjoy fishing day in memory of Hunter Crane

Virginia

The Hunter Crane Foundation hosted its annual free family fishing day at Landfall Lodge.

In January 2013, James Wood High School senior Hunter Crane passed away in a car accident. Hunter’s mother says he was a big fan of the outdoors and the foundation’s events have been centered around fishing, trap shooting and hunter safety. Over the years, the foundation has raised about $50,000 for the Hunter Crane Memorial Scholarship Fund.

“To me, it’s just so humbling that people put so much time and effort to help us share Hunter’s life, share Hunter’s love. It’s not only a great thing for the community, but it’s healing for our family,” said Hunter’s mother Tina Crane.

The foundation has several partners including the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries and the Frederick County Bass Wranglers.
