Fairfax County workers want county budget to meet promised cost of living adjustment standards

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors is hearing from the public as they decide on what to do with county’s budget, but some county workers aren’t happy about what’s being proposed.

Some county workers are batting an eyebrow at the county’s proposed Market Rate Adjustment which acts as a cost of living adjustment, and the county’s proposed budget isn’t going to fully fund. With it not being fully funded, this could cost workers to lose out on hundreds of dollars annually. Some workers say it will impact them largely.

“We have all come out today, to once again, support the MRA because we know if you dont ask, you don’t get. Yes we come, and we come in numbers, so that we can show them that we are standing together on this,” said Tammie Wondong, Fairfax County Human Services Assisitant.

The County will adopt a final budget on April 28th.
