After nearly two months of collecting thoughts and ideas from the community, the Fairfax County strategic planning team has listed the priorities that the community is agreeing to focus on.
Through focus groups, online surveys, and community meetings the strategic planning team pointed to nine key areas that the community feels the county should prioritize.
At the top of that list was education and lifelong learning. Dalia Palchik, School Board Member from the Providence District, says she’s pleased to see a high emphasis on education from the community.
“We..have huge pockets in our community that need to have better access to Pre-K services….Also workforce, college, and career readiness [as well as] lifelong learning for the adults in the community to be able to change careers or learn a new trad [or] profession,” said Palchik.
Otherpriorities include transportation, security, livability, and economic opportunity.
