Fairfax County Fire and Rescue and Alexandria Fire Department Units responded to a hotel fire on the 6000 block of Richmond Highway around 11 a.m. on November 5.
Officials said their units were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, which began in a ground level guest room.
There were approximately 40 people in the Belle Haven hotel at the time of the fire. No one was injured.
The hotel does have working smoke alarms, though it is unknown if they activated. The building does not have a sprinkler system, officials said.
Fire damages were limited to the room the blaze began in, and smoke damage was contained to adjacent rooms and the awning area. Damages are approximately $50,000.
Wednesday, the fire remained under investigation.
