With upcoming elections and possibly a historic political transformation on the way, some are urging people to put the agenda of working people front and center.
On Wednesday, several union organizations held a press conference encouraging people to place a vote that will give every family a chance to succeed in Fairfax County. The conference was focused on advancing the fight for income equality, workers rights and more affordable housing. Also in attendance was a candidate for chair of the Fairfax County board, Supervisor Jeff McKay.
“When I am chairman, we’ll be locking ourselves in a board that will fight with our union brothers and sisters, we’ll fight for our immigrants, we’ll stand up against this administration, we’ll build affordable housing and we’ll invest in education and we know that we can also set an example for the rest of the state by what we do in Fairfax County,” McKay said.
Primary elections are June 11.
