UPDATE: 22-year-old man arrested for homicide in Loudoun County

UPDATE (11/14/2021 6:48 p.m.) — A 22-year-old man has been charged for the Nov. 14 murder at a home in the Barclay Woods Community near Leesburg.

The suspect, 22-year-old Melvin Wasike of Fairfax, was arrested by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Friday afternoon on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, aggravated malicious wounding and breaking and entering while armed with intent to commit murder.

The victim has been identified as 46-year-old Michael Fadely of Leesburg.

A second victim inside the home, whose name is not being released, was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

LCSO continues to investigate what the motives were.

Wasike is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.


LEESBURG, Va. (WDVM) — A suspect has been identified and taken into custody, after a stabbing that occurred in Leesburg on Sunday morning.

Authorities were called to a home along Newton Place in the Barclay Woods neighborhood south of Leesburg around 4:30 a.m. for reports of a stabbing.

Police say the suspect is also related to the stabbing of another resident.
