Deputies investigating alleged sexual assault at Rio Cantina nightclub

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a sexual assault that allegedly happened inside a Sterling nightclub early Sunday morning. 

Sheriff’s deputies said the alleged assault happened at the Rio Cantina inside the Town Plaza in Sterling. According to LSCO, a woman reported that around 1:30 a.m. an unknown man grabbed her and began kissing and groping her inside the nightclub.

On two separate occasions, deputies said the suspect pulled the woman into a private room and at one point began sexually assaulting her. They said the suspect left the room when appeared that someone tried to open the door. 

“The subject was described as an African American male, about 5’7″ 200 pounds with freckles around his nose..wearing a denim shirt with white dots on it and blue jeans, boots and possibly a silver or gold chain around his neck,” Sheriff Mike Chapman said.
