ARLINGTON, Va. - On Saturday, over ten countries were represented at the inaugural Washington Multicultural Fair.
The fair also served as an opportunity for networking. Recruiters from local police departments, corporations like Dominion Energy, and online platforms were there to diversify their work forces.
According to organizers, one third of the 60 million residents of the Washington Metropolitan area come from non-English speaking countries.
"We all come from such great nations, but we're here to become one nation," said Rose Hong, executive director of Global Dragon TV and co-host of the event.
Organizers anticipated about 400 attendees who also got to shop and enjoy cultural performances.
