The Inova Loudoun Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is highlighting the work of nurses and their bond with residents during National Skilled Nursing Care Week.
The week is being celebrated through a variety of different events, which started on Mother’s Day, but for many, the highlight of the week is the fashion show where many residents get to strut their stuff down the red carpet. Center officials say the week is about keeping the residents occupied with endless amounts of fun.
“We do special events every day, but for Nursing Home Week in May, we try to make it as big as possible, and they remember it for a long time, all the fun things that we try to do, different things that we normally don’t do during the week,” said Mabel Costello, Activity Coordinator.
The celebration continues for the residents as they have piano and dancing events to finish out the week.
