Two men from Brookyln, New York, were sentenced for the 2017 robbery of a 7-Eleven in Winchester, Virginia.
Daniel Payano, 24, and Elvin Gervacio, 23, were allegedly trying to prove the point that it would be easier to rob a store in a small southern city than in New York City.
According to prosecutors, Payano held up the Loudoun Street 7-Eleven clerk with a BB gun that resembled a real pistol and stole $64. Meanwhile, Gervacio acted as a look out.
In exchange for cooperating with authorities, Payano received a reduced sentence of three years and four months on Tuesday. Gervacio, who was sentenced October 19, went to trial and received a sentence of five years in prison.
