Berryville Police Department is going through the accreditation process

Virginia

The Berryville Police Department is in the process of becoming an accredited law enforcement agency.

The accreditation goes through the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services. The process can take up to 2 years but the Berryville Police Department aims to do it in just 18 months.

The purpose of this process is to hold all law enforcement agencies to the same standards. Currently, Clarke County, which encompasses the town of Berryville, is accredited, along with surrounding areas such as Warren County, Frederick County and the City of Winchester.
