Bentonville man indicted on child porn charges

Virginia

A Warren County man was indicted Monday on child porn charges.

A grand jury indicted Dorian Pitts, 37, of Bentonville, Virginia, on four counts of possession of child pornography, two counts of destroying evidence, and one count of unlawful filming of a minor.

According to a criminal complaint by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, four images of pre-pubescent minors were uploaded to the internet between February 8 and 9 of 2018. The email address and IP address used to upload the images were linked to Dorian Pitts.

When law enforcement arrived at his home with a search warrant, Pitts allegedly admitted the email address was his and stated that he had accessed it via his cell phone. While deputies were searching the phone, they found a video of a 13 year old girl using the bathroom, with her genitals exposed.

Deputies charged Pitts with the initial counts of possession of child pornography and unlawful filming of a minor in June. Afterwards, Pitts allegedly called an unnamed co-conspirator and asked her to delete the images that were uploaded.

According to deputies, the co-conspirator attempted to do so. Subsequently, Pitt was charged with the additional two counts of destroying evidence.

Pitts is being held without bond at the Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail.
