Arlington County Police Department’s Special Operations division is starting their Street Smart campaign on November 5, a part of their traffic safety program.
This region-wide public safety campaign aims to educate drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists and scooter operators about existing traffic laws and how to safely share our roadways, according to the police department.
“We are going to be stepping up enforcement throughout the month of November and into December as part of this campaign, with the goal of identifying and changing unsafe behaviors,”said Kirby Clark, with the police department.
Clark tells us the ultimate goal is to reduce the number of traffic related crashes and injuries on our roadways and for everyone to arrive at their destination safely.
The campaign concludes on December 2.
