Alexandria Police investigating sudden death of woman at bus stop

UPDATE 2/18: APD identified the deceased woman as Isabelle Hernandez Saballa and was “a known subject in the community.” Saballa also went by “Dora,” police say.

Police say Saballa’s death does not appear to be suspicious and the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office will determine her cause and of death.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WDVM) — Alexandria Police say they are conducting a sudden death investigation after a 49-year-old woman died at a bus stop early Tuesday morning.

Police say a passerby called 911 around 5:30 a.m. after she saw the woman at the bus stop on the 4100 block of Mount Vernon Avenue.

An investigation is ongoing and no further details are available at this time.
