Police in Prince William County are searching for three men for their connection to an armed robbery and shooting investigation in dumfries.
On Tuesday at 1:18 a.m. officers responded to the 16800 block of Jefferson Davis Highway to investigate a shooting. A 25-year-old man reported that he was sitting in his car when he was approached by three unknown men armed with handguns. During the encounter, police say the suspects took the victim’s keys, cell phone and money. Police say shots were fired at the victim as he ran away.
“An officer responding to the incident located the victims vehicle which had been stolen. It was occupied by two individuals. He followed the vehicle which went to a dead end near Larkin Drive and the occupants bailed out,” said Officer Nathan Probus, spokesperson for Prince William County Police Department.
Police were unable to locate the suspects who are described as one white male and two black males. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact police.
