UPDATE: Officials identify woman who died in Waynesboro house fire

The Franklin County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the woman lost her life in a house fire located on Airport Road in Waynesboro.

The coroner said that 77 year-old Louise Auvil died early Tuesday from complications with smoke inhalation.

She was pronounced dead early that morning at Waynesboro Hospital.

Her husband, 74 year-old Terry Auvil, suffered minor burns but was treated and released.

After investigating, state fire marshals classified the cause of the blaze as undetermined, adding there was certainly no foul play involved.

Officials said there were also cats found and saved inside the house at the time of the fire.
