The Hagerstown City Council officially has a new member.
Shelly McIntire was sworn in Tuesday night to fill the vacancy left by Don Munson.
McIntire said that with the new opportunities that come with being on the council she feels like she finally has a voice.
She also encourages any and all members of the Hagerstown community to contact her with any ideas or grievances so that they can have a voice as well.
“I think that it’s important that people come here, say what is their passion and what they think are problems and solutions,” said McIntire “Whether it’s email or coming here to a public meeting, we’re all willing to listen, and I’m willing to listen.”
Not only was this McIntire’s first council meeting, but it was also Paul Corderman’s last, as he heads off to Annapolis to represent Western Maryland in the state legislature.
