UPDATE: Harpers Ferry man turns himself in for single-vehicle crash in Virginia

Virginia State Police tell us a man turned himself in after being wanted on several charges related to a single-vehicle crash in Frederick County, Va.

Officials said 35-year old Jerry Scott, of Harpers Ferry, was wanted for destruction of property, reckless driving, hit-and-run and several other charges.

Scott was allegedly driving a Toyota Camry on Route 7 at Valley Mill Sunday around 10:40 p.m., when the car went off the road into the median, struck the guardrail, went down an embankment and overturned onto its roof. 

Scott then ran away.   

Thursday, he was released on bond.

The crash remains under investigation.

Thirty-five-year old Jerry Scott, of Harpers Ferry, is wanted for destruction of property, driving without a valid driver’s license, reckless driving, failure to maintain control, hit-and-run and obstruction of justice.

Scott was allegedly driving a Toyota Camry on Route 7 at Valley Mill Sunday around 10:40 p.m., when the car went off the road into the median, struck the guardrail, went down an embankment and overturned onto its roof. 

Scott then ran away. 

The crash remains under investigation.
