It’s where local artists go to create, and express their love for art.
“This is a great supportive environment, it’s a place that an artist just starting out or a mid or late career artist can work and enjoy their time; their studio can be dirty or it can be clean, and they can meet clients here,” said Owner and Executive Director of Artists and Makers Studios, Judith HeartSong.
Located on Parklawn drive in Rockville, the fast growing studio program at Artists and Makers houses 43 studios, and three galleries where currently about 70 artists come to network and share their craft.
“It’s a great therapy, and I didn’t know until I started.” Said northern Virginia resident, Nadia Duchelle.
“This art center is really unique in this area, there’s so many great artists working on so many things…there’s painters sculptors jewelers and we all kind of cross pollinate,” said Glen Kessler, an artist that rents a studio at Artists and Makers.
