FREDERICK, Md. (WDVM) — One man has been hospitalized following a shooting in Frederick, Maryland.

According to Frederick City Police, the incident was reported around 11:14 a.m. on Tuesday morning in the 300 block of Heather Ridge Drive.

The victim was transported to a local trauma center and police say he is in serious but stable condition.

Police say the shooting is not random, and detectives are looking into a possible link to another shooting that happened on Saturday morning along the 600 block of North Market Street in which four people were injured. Frederick police arrested suspect Bryant Helon McMillon, Jr., age 34, of Silver Spring in connection to that shooting.

Heather Ridge, Monocacy Elementary and Middle School were placed on temporary lock down Tuesday morning.

We will have more details as it becomes available.
