Neighbors woke up to a fiery scene around 3:00 am on Thursday, when three cars caught on fire.

Montgomery County safety officials say it happened on the 800 block of Reserve Champion Drive in Rockville. All that was left behind were the charred remains of the vehicles that caught on fire, and severe heat damage to the front of two homes there. Neighbors say they saw flames as tall as four feet high, and heard tires busting due to the fire, while others still can’t believe it happened so close to home.

Montgomery County fire officials say they are still investigating the cause of the fire.
