The town of Emmitsburg held a viewing party to watch the Mount’s basketball team in action


The town of Emmitsburg was out in full swing on Tuesday as they watched Mount Saint Mary’s basketball team play in the NCAA tournament.

Students from the Mount and residents packed in at the Ott House in Emmitsburg, Md., to show support for their local team. People even wore blue and white, which are Mount Saint Mary’s colors. The last time Mount Saint Mary’s was in the tournament was in 2014 and Tuesday’s win marked the second win ever in the tournament. Locals said that they are so happy to for the team.

“Well the Mount is a small school, so it is a great that they are getting this recognition that they deserve. They are an awesome team and they are a big family at their the mount so we love being a part of their family,” said restaurant manager of the Ott Hose, Lauri Harley.

Mount Saint Mary’s will take  on number one seeded Villanova in Buffalo, New York on Thursday.
