The new Business & Technology Cultivation Center, located on North Market street in Frederick, now has its brand name and tagline.
It will be called “Root” with the slogan “Dig Deep. Cultivate Tomorrow.” The building is currently under construction, but once it is completed, the center is expected to create jobs and help stabilize new businesses in Frederick County.
A new technology incubator will be on the first floor of Root to nurture businesses. The Frederick County Chamber of Commerce has moved into its new headquarters on the second floor, and the third floor of Root currently houses the Frederick County office of Economic Development.
“We know that businesses are not just people who go to work everyday, but there are families and lives there, and you really want to be someplace where there’s a really great quality of life. so I think that’s a lot about digging deep, and really being a part of your community, which is a great opportunity that we have here in Frederick,” said Downtown Frederick Partnership Executive Director, Kara Norman.
The building is expected to be completed and fully occupied by the end of the year.
