Suspect in Chambersburg shooting arrested in New York City

A suspect connected to a shooting in Chambersburg earlier in August has been arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force in New York City.

Drew Carter, 34, also known as Jamal, was taken into custody without incident at a home on Bryant Avenue in the Bronx. He will be extradited to Pennsylvania.

Carter is facing charges of attempted homicide and aggravated assault. This stems from August 4, when officers with the Chambersburg Police Department found another man seriously injured with gunshot wounds on the 100-block of South Main Street.

Witnesses identified Carter as the attacker, and investigators determined he may have fled the area.
