The nonprofit, Arts on the Block, teamed up with the Montgomery County Department of Transportation to add a sprinkle of color to bus stops.
It’s part of MCDOT’s newest express service traveling on Route 355.
All 12 Ride On extRa stops feature a mosaic medallion, designed and crafted by students in Montgomery County.
The artwork captures the benefits of taking a Ride On extRa bus, like saving time and getting a wi-fi signal.
“I can show my friends and family, [and say] ‘Hey! This is my art. It’s public, and you can see it,’” said Jared Washington, student artist, Arts on the Block. “It’s something unique.”
All trips on Ride On extRa buses are free in the month of October.
