Reported gunshots in Germantown led to arrest

News

A 20-year old male faces charges on possession of a firearm after Germantown residents reported hearing gun shots.

Witnesses told Montgomery County Police that occupants of a Toyota Corolla and grey Dodge were shooting at each other Thursday on the 19300 block of Midridge Road.

They did recover shell casings at the scene.

Shortly after the initial 911 call, a witness spotted the Toyota Corolla outside of a nearby home on Ashworth Court.

Police found Nassir Eggleston in that residence where they recovered a handgun.

“Normally a victim at this point would’ve come forward if they were suffering from a gunshot wound, so we don’t believe that anyone was hit, but that is still possible,” said Captain Paul Starks, Montgomery County Police.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the 5th District.

No other people have been charged.
