Randolph Macon Academy in Front Royal celebrated a milestone today; its 125th anniversary!
The school was founded in 1892 by the United Methodist Church and Randolph Macon College.
The day started off with the Mayor of Front Royal honoring the academy with a proclamation from the town council. He also mentioned that the school provides 10,000 hours of service for the local community each year.
After, military awards were presented to students and there’s still more to come to celebrate this huge milestone.
“Our community celebration will be April 29. We start off with a 5K run at 9 in the morning, and we have the community celebration picking up at 11 a.m. this morning and runs through 4 p.m.,” said Celeste Brooks, Director of Public Relations, Randolph Macon Academy.
There will be activities, events and entertainment at the free community event.
