At least three people were injured, including one seriously, after a porch collapsed at a Frostburg home on Saturday.
The incident happened on Wood Street around 7 p.m., according to officials with the Frostburg Fire Department. Firefighters and two units from Frostburg Area Ambulance Service responded to the scene, where several others were treated for minor injuries after it collapsed.
They said the roof of the porch was about 15 feet off the ground.
Law enforcement from the city, Frostburg State University, Allegany County Sheriff’s Office and Maryland State Police also assisted on the call, due to the large number of students in the area.
Officers were already across the street when it happened, handling a call for a “loud party” that numbered between 200 and 250 people.
The patients were taken to Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for treatment.
