Washington Township supervisors allow alcohol in two parks

Pennsylvania

The Board of Supervisors in Washington Township voted to allow beer and wine at two parks.

Those who go to the Rolando Woods Park and Rouzerville Community Center are allowed to have alcohol  by getting a permit. According to Jeffrey Geesaman, the township manager, back in 2015 the supervisors allowed alcohol at parks as long as they received special permission. However, Geesaman says they felt that certain parks are children friendly and they wanted to create a responsible standard for alcohol going forward.

“We’re not allowing kegs, it’s only bottles and cans. it’s only beer and wine. no hard liquor. the alcohol has to be kept in the facility that you have rented,” said Geesaman.

And all participants purchase a $150 permit fee and put down $150 deposit.
