A community is dealing with the aftermath of crash that killed an 85-year-old woman.
Elizabeth Patnychuk was hit by a pickup truck at the intersection of South Main and East Queen Street in Chambersburg on Tuesday.
It happened around 3:30 p.m., when residents said traffic is pretty heavy in that area.
According to police, the light on South Main St. was green at the same time Patnychuk was using the crosswalk on East Queen St.
Police said the pickup truck was turning onto East Queen St. and hit her. Patnychuk was flown to York Trauma Center where she later died.
“It’s dangerous, you have to watch the traffic all the time, you have to use the crosswalks to get over and cross the roads,” said Chambersburg resident, Todd Thomas.
The Chambersburg Police Department expressed their condolences saying “our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this difficult time.”
