Pennsylvania Senator Judy Ward visited the Sideling Hill Turnpike Plaza Friday morning to celebrate the unveiling of local students artwork.
Southern Fulton Visual Art students and Fulton County AVTS Welding students created a large installation piece through the Pennsylvania Art Sparks Program. “Our Life-Our Story” represents Fulton County and has a roadway through the art piece to represent the turnpike connecting both sides of Pennsylvania.
“I’m so proud of these students and how they represent our state of Pennsylvania,” said U.S. Senator Judy Ward.
Southern Fulton High School Art Teacher Carolyn Mottern says the students worked the entire school year on their piece.
“People come through here and they don’t really stop and enjoy the community,” said Southern Fulton High School Project Leader Riley Francis. “They come here to get food and go to the bathroom, and we wanted to show them the community and what we see whenever they stop here.”
