Franklin County set to improve court and add judicial center

Pennsylvania

Franklin County will have an expanded court and judicial center in 2019.

The $67.8 million Court Facility Improvement Project will include renovations to the old courthouse along with an expansion of the current one.

Over the years, Franklin County has seen a major increase in population. This has caused the county to expand from one judge to five judges.

County officials say the project includes renovations to the old court house and construction of a judicial center. The last time court facilities were expanded was in 1979.

The project is expected to begin with the demolishing of the building in December and construction will begin in spring of 2019.
