Police say a former West Virginia University wrestler and Pennsylvanian State Champion was shot Sunday in Washington County, Pennsylvania, following a domestic violence call.

Logan Macri,19, was charged with aggravated assault after attacking his mother with a sword and a handgun.

Officers responded to a 9-1-1 call at the home, where they fired on Macri after he pointed a gun at them.

He was on the roster at WVU last fall but left in November for unknown reasons.

Macri remains hospitalized today.
