One man airlifted after surviving a vehicle fire in Chambersburg

A Chambersburg man was airlifted for his injuries after his car caught on fire multiple times.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, 48-year old David Pohluhar was driving on Dixie Avenue when his car lit up in flames, immediately causing him to hit a tree.

Pohluhar then got out of the car moments before it burst into flames again.

After the second explosion, police say the car began to roll uncontrollably and eventually hit a mailbox and a trailered boat before coming to a final stop, when the vehicle slammed into a tree.

Pohluhar was taken to the DC Med Star Hospital via helicopter.
