One DMV in the Four-State is using a new device to help decrease wait times for customers.
The Martinsburg DMV Regional Office unveiled a new kiosk Wednesday to help customers skip the lines.
It performs some of the most popular transactions that take place at the office, like renewing driver’s registrations or vehicle registrations.
Even after only being open a few hours, DMV officials said there was increased foot traffic throughout the day of people trying out the kiosk.
“[They] can renew their registration in three minutes. [They] can renew their driver’s license in three minutes. They can renew their registration for a vehicle in three or four minutes, and it avoids them having to stay in line to be waited on,” said DMV Commissioner for West Virginia, Pat Reed.
The kiosk is located inside of the Martinsburg DMV, so the standard hours for the office apply to using the machine.
