Shooting at California bar leaves 13 dead including gunman

CNN reports the gunman who opened fire in Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, California last night has been identified as former Marine Ian David Long, 28, of Newbury Park, California.

Sgt. Ron Helus, who  was set to retire in the next year, was among the dead. 


The Ventura County Fire Department reports that 13 people are dead in a shooting at a bar in Thousand Oaks, California, including the suspected gunman. 

Officials say the suspect was dead when police arrived on the scene. He has yet to be identified. The Ventura County Sheriff said that a sheriff’s deputy was among the dead. The officer was a 29-year veteran of the force and died at the hospital.
