Mother’s Day sales are on the rise this year

A National Retail Federation survey shows Mother’s Day sales bumped other holidays down. This year, Mother’s Day sales reached a record high of more than twenty billion.

A local florist in Frederick who has been serving the community for twenty-five years agrees and says this year for Mother’s Day he couldn’t keep his shelves full.

He had many pre orders and had customers coming in to buy flowers all week. Mother’s Day is the busiest season for florists next to Thanksgiving and Christmas. A survey shows more than seventy percent of people planned to spend the same amount or more for their mothers on Mother’s Day.

“This season for amour is better than last year people are buying flowers and even I have hard time at times to fill in all the orders. There is more orders than a florist can handle that day” says Pierre Ziadeh, Owner of Amour Flowers.

The owner of amour flowers says he enjoys this season and preparing for more volume in the next coming seasons.
