Christmas might be over, but if you’re still in the holiday spirit, one winter classic is continuing through Tuesday night.
The Maryland Youth Ballet is presenting its annual Nutcracker performance for its 27th year.
The show features more than 100 dancers in classic scenes with the Rat King, Clara and Sugar Plum Fairy.
For the first year, the company offered VIP tickets to give some guests a behind the scenes look at prepping for the show.
“First of all, the Nutcracker is a traditional ballet, and people who don’t even necessarily come for the ballet. They come because it’s a family tradition to see the Nutcracker at Christmas time,” said Alyce Jenkins, Director of Maryland Youth Ballet.
Tuesday’s performances are at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the Robert E. Parilla Performing Arts Center.
