MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Morgantown LGBTQ community joined together to hold a rally on Monday night.
The rally started at the police station on Spruce Street with appearances from guest speakers. Participants marched to the end of the Pleasant Street bridge in downtown Morgantown where members say a hate crime took place Sunday night.
“The importance of this is for people to see that there are more of us than there are of them, there are more people supporting us, there are more people with love in their hearts than the few bad apples that are in this town,” said community organizer Christopher Reed.
A second rally was originally scheduled to be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m., but has since been cancelled.
